Digital Accessibility Commitment

The University Libraries are committed to ensuring that our digital resources, services, and collections are accessible to all LLUH affiliated users, including those with visual, auditory, cognitive, and motor disabilities. We recognize that access to health sciences information is a critical component of academic success and clinical excellence.

Our Standards & Monitoring

We aim to align our web presence and digital content with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA standards.

To ensure we meet these benchmarks, the library utilizes SiteImprove, an industry-leading automated accessibility monitoring tool and PDF Accessibility Checker (PAC).  These platforms help our team identify areas for improvement and prioritize the remediation of accessibility barriers as part of our regular digital maintenance workflow.

This is an ongoing effort; we are actively working to remediate legacy content while ensuring all new materials meet these accessibility benchmarks.

Requesting an Accommodation or Reporting a Barrier

If you encounter a digital barrier or find that a specific resource (such as a PDF, database, or video) is not accessible to you, please contact us immediately. We will provide the information in an alternative format as quickly as possible.

  • Response Time: We strive to respond to all accessibility inquiries within 24 business hours to begin the process of providing an accessible alternative or accommodation.

Third-Party Content

The library licenses many resources from external vendors (e.g., PubMed, Elsevier, Wolters Kluwer). While we cannot control the interface of these platforms, we prioritize accessibility in our procurement process, review vendor accessibility documentation (VPATs), and actively advocate for WCAG compliance with our vendors.
